Penguin Computing’s Relion Server Line Is Now Powered by Intel’s New Xeon E5-2600v2 Processor Family

Penguin Computing, one of the leading providers of large-scale, Linux based enterprise, cloud computing and HPC solutions, today announced the immediate availability of the brand new Intel Xeon E5-2600v2 processor family on its entire Relion server line. As the first processor generation based on the 22nm tri-gate processor technology the new Intel Xeon processors code named “Ivy Bridge” offer improved energy efficiency and price/performance.   • Support for higher clock-frequencies up to 3.5GHz
  • Up to twelve cores and 24 threads per processor
  • Support for memory speeds up to 1866MHz
  • Increased virtualization performance through APIC virtualization
  • Increased security through new platform and data protection technologies
